William (Bill) Callies was a Game Warden for the State
of Minnesota from 1960-1980. He became a warden at
the age of 43 and he felt it was the BEST job in the world.
He was stationed at Waskish, Crosby-Ironton, Orr and
Beaudette. These are some of the stories he wrote about -
his adventures as a warden while he worked those stations.
Some of the stories are exciting, some are funny and
many are informative. They all describe the job of a
Minnesota Conservation Officer during the 20 years
that Bill worked for the state.
